Still the screen and radio seem to work fine, with the Cd player ejecting every 20 seconds or so. But on a saturday afternoon the screen goes black. Hmm, is my nav broken? The CD player is still ejecting every 20 seconds.
Because I fixed many DS3, C3’s already, and stories that I hear from my clients. Dealers say the screen is broken or the whole unit and you need to pay between € 600,- and € 900,- to fix it. That is not the case at all…
After researching the internet I found out that the radio unit containts a micro SD card. No wonder the radio unit dies after 10 years. SD cards are not meant to run software on, so they wear out.

For those of you wandering how to fix NAV and radio DS3, C3 and C4? Here are my instructions:
Radio Unit
Motherboard and the micro SD card slot
After removing the radio unit, remove the front panel and 5 back screws. This reveils the SD card slot. Remove the old SD card and keep it safe, because the user info is still receivable. Replace the SD card with a new for example SanDisk Ultra micro SDXC 32GB UHS-I A1 U1.
- Format the new SD card as FAT32.
- Put it back in the SD card slot on the motherboard.
- Install the radio unit back in the car.
- Download RT6-2.86 firmware online or purchase my remote support.
- Burn the firmware to a CD-R of CD-RW.
- Start the car and leave the car running during install of the firmware.
- Inject the CD to the CD player.
- Wait a couple of hours for the firmware to flash.
Yes. The radio is working again!

Restoring
After flashing the firmware the radio asks to flash a update. Press yes, because otherwise the radio will keep beeping at you. The annoying thing is that the language is now in Czech or Polish. We want to restore the old user information from the old SD card.
Mirascript
Look online for RT6 mirascript or purchase my remote support.
Once “Mirascript” has been downloaded, extract the archive onto a USB key formatted in FAT32.
In the “CMD” folder, keep only the “RT6_USERCOM.CMD” file (keep the “upg” directory as well as the 2 files at the root).
Now insert the old CD card in your pc. There are multible partitions that Windows will open for you. Go to the partition that contains a folder called “user_data” > “User_profile”. Copy all files (User_*.inf/dat) to the root of the USB key that you prepaired with Mirascript.
In the vehicle, plug in the USB key which will ask to execute the script, answer “YES”.
Answer “yes” to the “WRITE” command.
Wait for the RT6 to display a message asking to reboot. DO NOT ANSWER YES.
Press the “Eject” button for 10 seconds, until the RT6 restarts.
In the “SETUP” menu you must have found the language selection menu (the third from memory).

That’s correct. You need to purchase a new map for eMyWay RT6 nav-update from your local dealer or Ebay.
